Welcome to our family-owned Maine Coon cattery, located in Fremont, Michigan! We are proud to raise exceptional Maine Coon kittens focusing on health, affection, size and socialization, creating the perfect companion for you. We keep our cattery small to focus on one litter at a time. Each kitten is raised with care and dedication,  ensuring they are ready to become a beloved member of their new home. 

Our journey began in 2021 when our family, including five children (two of whom are on the autism spectrum) and a military veteran with PTSD, set out to find an emotional support animal. After researching many breeds and types of animals, we discovered the wonderful Maine Coon cat. Finding the right Maine Coon kitten in Michigan, however, was challenging. 

In 2023, we found a trusted breeder and adopted our first two Maine Coon kittens. Their gentle, social nature and how quickly they bonded with our children amazed us. The Maine Coon’s calm and affectionate demeanor made them the perfect fit for our family, and we soon realized we wanted to share this breed with others.

That passion led us to start our cattery in Michigan, where we focus on raising Maine Coon kittens with great health, temperament, and size. Each kitten receives careful attention and love, ensuring they grow into well-adjusted and affectionate companions. Our commitment is to offer Maine Coon kittens that will be cherished by their new families for years to come.

In 2024, we were excited to welcome our first litter of registered Maine Coon kittens here at Silver Mittens Cats. Caring for the kittens with our children has been a rewarding experience, teaching them important lessons in responsibility, love, and compassion.
